Wave Rock
A natural wonder in the west. What you see in the photo is pretty much it. But it is quite phenomenal. And you can walk across the top.

Amazing place to visit. Definately can make one day trip from city. Lots of places for caravan. There are more things to see near by.

Interesting place. Nice walk and climb up the rock.The place is not difficult to find. Use Google Maps to search and follow the directions.The actual much photographed scene is just a short walk from the car park at the wave rock.There are many photo angles at the wave rock itself. But to take one without the crowd, you may have to wait for the right moment.Do spend some time walking the two trails.Highly recommended to walk the trail to the top of the rock. Quite an easy climb with some rails at the steeper slopes near the side of the reservoir.Overall, highly recommended nature walk.

We stayed at the CP so it's a short walk to the rock. If you like seeing something different then this is for you. The walk around and over the rock is worth doing as is Hippo Yawn. We also loved the wild flowers growing along the walks. All up we spent a good 3 hours here.

It’s a little hot during Christmas holiday, but worth to go. Wear proper shoes and bringing enough water. Kids enjoy the ice cream back to wave rock store.

Wow. What a stunning piece of rock. Mother Nature at her best. Well worth the climb to the top as well and wander around the top. And don't forget to check out Hippos Yawn.

Absolutely worth a look and an explore. Not as long as I thought it would be but definitely higher. The hike up and around it has awesome views and the short walk to Hippo's Yawn is worth the photo op.

Parking fee: It is very expensive as only visiting for less than 15 minutes due to the very warm and sunny weather. The hot sun was shining strongly and it made the place too warm for visiting.Tip: Go park at Hippo's Yawn, it is free over there, then walk 10 minutes back to Wave Rock.Too crowded to take nice pictures. Please come early in the morning. Did not visit the shops as it is too warm.

Great place to view and walk around and on the huge mass of rock, plus see the dam and catchment area on top. Just don't let Ur kids run wild as it's got some step drop off's if Ur up on top of the rock. It is very safe but u no what kids are like lol.Worth walking up ontop and walking to or from the hippos Yawn.

Wave rock ....the name itself says that the rock is in the form of wave ....it's formed naturally and the rock is of granite .... Definitely a good place to visit and there is a salt pond near to wave rock and the water in this pond is saltier than dead sea ...we couldn't get time since it's open only till 5pm ...so if your visiting this place I would definitely recommend you to visit a bit early so that you can spend good time at both the places...and look out for temperatures while planning to visit this place ...I went out on a sunny day (40°c) and was tired by the end of the day !
