City Beach

I was fortunate enough to live in City Beach for 5 years (which it were longer).The beach is my favorite (in Perth). Free of rowdy, drunk youths (15-25 yo's) that frequent other beaches such as Cottesloe and Scarborough. This allows you to just enjoy the lovely beach.They have renovated the City Beach Surf Club which is just fantastic. Also some of the restaurants / cafe's have been revamped too.Swimming is very good, and good for body surfing/boarding most of the time. When the swell is down, it's a different beach atmosphere. You can fish there for whiting, herring, tailor. I hear at night you can catch some bigger species too. The only thing it probably is not good for is surfing (but I'm not a surfer, so don't care ... lol).South of the Groyne it's much quieter (the main part can get very busy in Summer), so if you want to just chill out by yourself and/or partner, then that's the place to go.

Great beach. Direct bus from the city east peasy.

Clean, spacious beach for swimming, sunbathing and watching the sunset. Fantastic facilities, a great picnic area, and not a single piece of rubbish!

Perth beaches. The best!
